January 28, 2013

A 30-year-old man was arrested in Australia last Thursday on the request of PSNI detectives investigating the murder of Thomas O’Hare and his girlfriend, Lisa McClatchey in Tassagh near Keady six years ago.

The County Armagh couple, were beaten with hammers and doused in petrol before being set on fire, in a vicious attack.  They were both seriously injured and died later in hospital.

The arrested man, who is from Armagh, was detained by Australian police following a request by officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Serious Crime Branch.

He appeared in court in Sydney last Friday when extradition proceedings commenced.

Two brothers appeared in court earlier this month charged with the murders and with arson.
