Credit Union Schools’ Poster Presentation

The Annual Schools Poster Competition Presentations were held in the Rangers Hall on Wednesday last 24th January.

Present were winners from St.Brigid’s, Glassdrummond, Anamar, Clonalig, St.Patrick’s and Learning Support Group from St.Joseph’s High.  Also in attendance were parents, teachers plus C.U. representatives.

Mr Seamus Murphy (Chairman of C.U.) made the presentations and Mr Tony Kieran (Vice-Chair) acted as compere, with Mr Thomas McKenna (Director) plus Manager Dympna and Senior Clerk Rita all helping out to ensure an enjoyable evening for all especially the children.

A special word of thanks here to Dympna and Rita for their hard work in preparing the event and also to Rangers for the use of the hall.

(14-17 Years) Roisin Carragher, Learning Support Group 1. Declan Donaghy, 2. Joseph Walsh, 3. Darryl McArdle, others who received Merit Awards were: Jason Maughan, Stephen Conlon, Eugene Evans, Cathal Kilroy and Craig Monaghan.

The Credit Union is most grateful to all who participate in this competition and indeed in the forecoming School Quiz which will take place in St.Joseph’s High School on Friday February 1st at 7pm.

Both events help to publicise and promote the work the Credit Union does 40 years now in existence!! It is hoped that the children will learn more about Credit Union, become future members, enjoying the service and benefits which it brings to our community.
