Breige off on Australia tour

Forkhill singer-songwriter Briege Murphy will shortly embark on an Australian tour, performing firstly in Melbourne, then north to the Yackandandah festival in Victoria. Finally Briege will line up with other  Irish artists like Paul Brady, Andy Irvine, Finbar Furey and Freddie White, at Australia’s biggest folk festival -The National Folk Festival of Australia.

Briege also dabbles in humorous poetry, and recently won “Best female Bard”, at the Bard of Armagh competition. Closer to home, she will perform at the Liberties Folk Session in Dublin’s Tivoli Theatre, on February 23rd. She is also on the committee of “Fleadh Rua”, a festival to celebrate Red-heads, which will take place from 31st May to 2nd June in Forkhill, inviting everyone, but especially red-heads to come together in a great weekend of music, and craic, for this unique “Fleadh”,  in this year of “The Gathering”.
