HGV lorry focus of Garda murder probe

In a renewed appeal for information on the murder of Garda Adrian Donohoe, Dundalk Gardai are looking for information in relation to a white HGV lorry that was parked on the Shean Road in Forkhill around 9.45pm on Friday January 25th – the night of the murder.

The lorry may have broken down and a number of people were seen around it.

Gardaí want to establish the identity of the driver or the owner of the vehicle, or anyone who may have been involved with its service or recovery on the day.  They would also like to speak to anyone who was travelling on the Shean Road, Forkhill on that Friday evening around 9.45pm.

Det Garda Donohoe (41), a married father-of-two was shot dead by a gang as they robbed the Lordship Credit Union on Friday January 25.

Investigating detectives have described the murder probe as “painstaking”.

Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan revealed that almost 400 statements and hundreds of CCTV footage have been obtained, while more than 1,000 lines of inquiry are being pursued.
