Jedi Jim’ Set to Host Hospice Business Lunch

August 26, 2013

Jim Eastwood, county Tyrone’s star of the hit BBC show ‘The Apprentice’ is set to address Newry businesses at a lunch hosted by Southern Area Hospice in the Canal Court Hotel on Thursday 26th September.

Southern Area Hospice is hosting its first ever lunch aimed at the business community and hope that an engaging speaker like Jim who was dubbed ‘the world’s greatest salesman by Lord Alan Sugar will be of interest to a local audience. The event will hear Jim talk about his Apprentice experience as well as life after the show and his current role as regional director for Groupon Limited for Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Fiona Stephens, Corporate Fundraiser for Southern Area Hospice Services said, “We are delighted to have secured Jim Eastwood for our first ever business lunch. He is a charismatic personality and certainly has an interesting and inspirational story to tell.

“We hope that local businesses and individuals will come out to support this event. Southern Area Hospice like many other businesses and organisations has had a tough financial year, yet in the current climate we still need to raise more than £2.1 million in 2013 to continue to provide our current level of service for people with cancer and terminal illness and their families in the southern area. We get fantastic support from the local business community in the greater Newry area and we hope that this event will allow even more people to support the Hospice as all the proceeds go towards providing essential services in our local area.”

The event will take place at 1pm on Thursday 26th September in the Canal Court Hotel. Tickets are priced at £25 each and are available by contacting Southern Area Hospice Services on 028 30251333.
