Presentation to RBHSC Renal Team of funds raised from Mick Quinn’s CD ‘Stories From the Foot of Slieve Gullion’

September 30, 2013

On the 19th March this year, the Ring of Gullion Comhaltas Branch hosted the official launch of Mick Quinn’s CD ‘Stories From the Foot of Slieve Gullion’, in the Welcome Inn, Forkhill.  Not only is the Branch privileged to have these CD recordings from Mick (Branch President), which are definitely a National Treasure, but Mick had also generously bequeathed the proceeds from the sale of CDs to a very worthy cause, the Northern Ireland Kidney Patients’ Association.

A number of CD launch events have taken place since March and it was with great delight that Mick presented a cheque of £2130 to the renal team in the RBHSC for the funds raised to date, on Monday 16th September.  The Renal team praised Mick for his hard work and sincere act of kindness.

The members of the renal team in the RBHSC were delighted with such a wonderful amount and said that these funds truly will make a difference in the care of young renal patients.

The double CD, which is a treasure to have, contains live recordings of Mick in action at events where he has become a regular guest over the years -The Bard of Armagh, The Wexford Singing Festival, the Geordie Hanna Weekend, the lnishowen Singing Festival and the Góilín Singing Club.

The CDs are still on sale and can be obtained through the Ring of Gullion CCE, Forkhill.
