Dromintee robbery condemned

December 9, 2013

The robbery at a house in Dromintee, and an attempted break-in at another, has been condemned by Sinn Fein’s election candidate in the area, Mickey Larkin.

Describing what happened, Mr Larkin said: “These incidents occurred at houses less than a mile apart which would point to the likelihood that the same people are responsibility for both.  In the first incident the thieves managed to gain entry to the property and made off with items from the house.  In the second property they were disturbed and left the scene empty handed.  It is reported that they left the second property in a silver Mercedes type vehicle.

“I want to condemn these attacks on the community of Dromintee and to ask that people remain vigilant and security conscious about their property and possessions.  Anyone who sees anything untoward, no matter how trivial, should contact the police or a local representative,” he added.
