Sure Start South Armagh Tooth Fairy Day

February 17, 2014

Children and their carers who live in the Sure Start South Armagh areas are invited to a Tooth Fairy Day on Wednesday 19 February from 10am to noon.

Duana McArdle, Health Promotion Community Support Worker from Sure Start South Armagh, explains: “We work with parents and carers to improve the health and wellbeing of children while focusing on prevention and tackling inequalities. The Tooth Fairy Day is the perfect opportunity for pre-school children to learn about looking after their teeth and gums. Giving our children the best possible start in life is important and dental care is an important place to start.”

All children who attend will receive a free dental pack and a local dentist will be on hand to offer advice and answer questions. The event has lots of fun activities for all the family including a storytelling session with the Tooth Fairy, facepainting and a puppet show.

Sure Start South Armagh Manager Conor McArdle adds: “This has been a successful annual event for Sure Start South Armagh, where in previous years a large number of members have attended. Parents have informed us of their concerns regarding general dental health of their children and they appreciate the opportunity to receive advice from an array of professionals on the day.”
