Top Innovation award for Foldeaze

Jonesborough based firm, Foldeaze, are celebrating this week after scooping the top award in the ‘Manufacturing’ category of  The Irish Times InterTradeIreland Innovation Awards 2014. The local firm picked up the prestigious award at a special awards ceremony held in the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham in Dublin, for its BRIAR Connect Clipping System.

The unique innovative system eliminates the need for any tool fixings or skills, which makes their modular furniture products simple and easy to assemble. As winners of the ‘Manufacturing’ category, the company now receive a €10,000 media package with The Irish Times and an iPad.

Foldeaze specialise in the design and manufacture of a range of multimedia units, contemporary shelving and modular storage solutions. They have pioneered a unique cutting and folding process for their products, and by incorporating the ‘BRIAR Connect’ clipping system, they are fast becoming a leader in technology and design in the furniture industry.

Congratulating the Foldeaze team on their win, An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny said such awards prove that “companies across the island, North and South, can be leaders in their field and innovators like the award winners will play a major part in economic recovery.”

Aidan Gough, Director of Strategy and Policy at InterTradeIreland also congratulated the award winners: “Innovation opens new opportunities for businesses no matter what sector they’re in as the diversity of the finalists in the 2014 All-island Innovation Awards shows.  InterTradeIreland congratulates the award winners and finalists.  We know that innovative companies generate growth and create jobs and we look forward to following their future success.”
