Shane seeks votes in BGT’s live finals show

May 26, 2014

Local viewers of last night’s Britain’s Got Talent were thrilled to see Crossmaglen man Shane McKeever, along with his Line dancing group CountryVive, receive the exciting news that they were through to the first live semi-final of the competition, which takes place tonight (Monday) at 7.30pm. Local dance hero Shane now needs the entire district behind him, as tonight the power lies in the hands of the voters, who will decide which act makes it through to the final.

Tonight’s show will see CountryVive compete alongside 8 other acts to impress the judges and secure the all-important viewers vote, in the first of five live semi-finals this week.  At stake is the chance to appear at this year’s Royal Variety Performance and win a life-changing cash prize of £250,000, but first the contestants have to win one of two coveted places available in the final.

The act with the most votes each evening automatically goes through, with the judges then picking their favourite between the two runners-up.

The group are set to be a popular choice having wowed the judges and the audience on the first show in the 2014 series with their one-of-a-kind line dancing routine performed to Backwards by American country music band, Rascal Flatts.  Their show stopping audition earned the dance troupe four “yeehaws” from the  judging panel as well as a standing ovation from a rapturous audience and was enough to propel them through to tonight’s nail-biting semi-final.

All acts are sure to have upped their game for tonight’s semi-final so viewers can expect a similarly jazzed up routine from the line-dancing legends which, with the voting power of south Armagh behind them, should give them their well-earned place in the BGT final.

Speaking to The Examiner after last night’s reveal show, an exuberant Shane told us he was “thrilled and delighted” that CountryVive have reached the live shows.

“We take great pride in our dancing and love to bring a smile to our audience.  We have worked very hard and I really hope that all our supporters will get behind us and vote for CountryVive. Being part of Britain’s Got Talent is an amazing experience and one that we will never forget.”

Shane’s family also expressed how proud they were of their talented son and his many dance achievements over the years.

“We do hope that CountryVive make it through to the final but to have a chance of making it through we need people to please vote for them.  The local support for Shane has always been amazing and we know that the people of south Armagh and beyond will no doubt show their resounding support for Shane and CountryVive.”
