Mullaghbawn to feature on TG4 programme

May 26, 2014

A new six-part Irish language programme on TG4 will feature Mullaghbawn in its upcoming 6th June episode.

‘Seoidíní Staire’ is a new series that sees a pop-up museum come to six towns across Ireland for one day.

Produced by Waddell Media, and presented by Mairead Ni Chuinneagáin, the series will broadcast at 8.00pm, beginning on Thursday 22nd May.

Members of the public were asked to explore their attics, cupboards and sheds for objects and artefacts of local historical interest and give the public a chance to see memorabilia that tell the real stories of local communities.

The precious objects and memorabilia were loaned to the one-day only exhibition so that locals could see them and learn about the history of their community.

Seoidíní Staire unlocks a wonderful treasure trove across the country as intriguing objects discovered tell historical stories of emigration, religion and everyday domestic life.

The six-part series was shot on location in Ráth Chairn, Co. Meath, Gaoth Dobhair, Co. Donegal, Erris in Co. Mayo, Mullaghbawn, South Armagh, Conamara and Cill Charthaigh, Co. Donegal.
