Ring of Gullion launches their annual summer programme commencing Tuesday 1st July

June 23, 2014

Special guest artist on the night is young traditional and local group Cuig. The group is made up of Dungannon brothers, Ronan & Ruari Stewart, Eoin & Cathal Murphy from Camlough and Miceal Mullen from Killean. The band has had a busy year with many performance opportunities such as The Templebar Trad Festival, taking the stage at the All-Ireland Fleadh in Derry and a number of performances while in France last summer. However, with the summer on the horizon, the band is set to record their debut EP in Dublin, before they head to off Dusseldorff in August. The Welcome Inn, the home of The Ring of Gullion Comhaltas for the past forty years, is delighted to have the lads back again.

Also in attendance are a group of young music students from Southern Pines, Virginia, USA . They are here as guests of Newry and Mourne council as part of  the ‘Sister City’ exchange programme. We are delighted to extend a comhaltas  welcome to them.

As always, we will keep you informed of our future guests and we look forward to seeing our regular backbone musicians and audience there in fine form, and invite musicians singers etc to come and join us during the summer.
