Family car stolen in ‘creeper’ burglary

December 1, 2014

A car belonging to a Camlough family was stolen by thieves who broke into their home on the Amakane Road during Friday night.

The vehicle was among a number of items taken in the theft.

Sinn Fein Councillor Roisin Mulgrew says the robbery was an “appalling violation” of a family home.

Urging people to be vigilant to any suspicious activity, she said: “This appalling violation of a family home is a disgrace. Those engaged in these criminal activities know exactly what they are doing, are motivated by greed and care nothing for the families or communities they traumatise. They need to be caught and face the full rigours of the law.”

Councillor Mulgrew says there are a number of agencies offering advice on property and personal security, and anyone seeking such advice can contact her on 077 1910 6871.

Advice is also available at the monthly Advice Clinic held in Camlough on the first Saturday of each month from 11am until 1pm.  The next clinic takes place this Saturday 6th December.
