Tí Chulainn to host local Trad Group Bothán

April 27, 2015

Tí Chulainn are delighted to be the host venue for local band Bothán on Friday 1st May. Doors open at 7.30pm.

Supported by new and upcoming group ‘Gullion’, Bothán will perform this concert in Tí Chulainn’s 75 seater auditorium, providing the ultimate informal and intimate audience/performer experience.

Bothan, a vibrant fusion of Traditional Irish Music mixed with world influences from artists such as  ‘Bob Dylan’ and ‘The Band’

Bothan  comprises local artists, Terry Conlon, on accordion and vocals, Terry Conlon (Jnr) on cajon, guitar and vocals, Padraig Carragher, on guitar, Gareth Doran, on Bodhran and vocals,  Ruairi Cunnane, on  guitar, Bouzouki  and vocals and Brendan Mullholland on flute, whistle and vocals.

The band has a distinct Plantxy/Bothy Band feel to their music and covers a wide range of musical genres. With 4 lead vocals, and all with different musical slants, this mix is fresh and exciting and promises to be a gig not to be missed.

Gareth Doran’s dolce tones are a distinct trademark of Bothan. He also sings some haunting ballads in Irish and has made several TV appearances including Fleadh Live and Blas Ceoil.

Terry Conlon (Jnr) provides the modern edge to Bothan with his orotund vocals and lively rhythm on cajon.

Terry Conlon, a stalwart of the music circuit together with world renowned flute player Brendan Mullholland provide the trad energy in the band.

Padraig Carragher, a true artist (also renowned wood turner), sits comfortably behind the vocals adding colour and dexterity with his intimate guitar picking  giving Bothan their unique sound.

Finally Ruairi Cunnane, gives Bothan their amazing energy and drive. His bouzouki and guitar playing are second to none and his vocals have a very unique and warm feel.

This is a ticket only event and there are limited tickets available.  For ticket sales and further information contact Padraig Carragher 00353 876693393 or Tí Chulainn  028 830 888 828
