Vintage silage cutting and vehicle display

The Border Counties Vintage Grassmen are hosting their annual Vintage Silage Cutting display this Sunday 31st May in Aughnafarcon, Castleblayney.

This year the event will take on a unique element as it coincides with the group’s undertaking of a 24-hour continuous silage cutting challenge – the first time any such event has taken place in the area.  This task will get underway on Saturday 30th May at 3.00pm and will conclude during Sunday’s display.

Featuring a range of vintage methods of silage cutting and hay making, including a display of vintage machinery and vehicles, live music will also form part of the Sunday’s entertainment.

All proceeds will benefit Castleblayney Cancer Society and Aughnafarcon National School.

Participation in the 24-hour challenge has now reached its capacity however anyone wishing to include their vintage vehicle in the display should contact Ronan on 086 6033 288, Dermot on 086 875 9612 or Francis on 086 363 5056.  All makes of vintage vehicles are welcome.
