Silverbridge annual Vintage Rally

September 21, 2015

This Sunday 27th September, Silverbridge GFC will host its fourth annual Vintage Vehicle and Tractor Run.
Always a great day in the club’s social calendar, organisers are hoping to repeat the success of previous years and invite all owners of vintage cars and tractors to bring along their cherished vehicles and be a part of this memorable event.
Registration for the event opens at 12 noon at the club and the run will get underway at 1.00pm sharp.
The 10-mile route will commence from the club grounds and wind its way through Creggan, Glassdrummond, Ballsmill, Tullydonnell and Silverbridge before returning to Keeley Park.
The main sponsor of this year’s Vintage Rally is Ardee Car Parts, to whom grateful appreciation is extended.  And in an new initiative this year, there will be a prize for the Best Original Vintage Tractor/Car, sponsored by Jim Gorman Tractors; while B Reel Motors will sponsor a prize for the Best Restored Vintage Tractor/Car.
In keeping with tradition, a prized Ferguson T20 tractor – once owned by Peter Keeley, one of the club’s esteemed founding members and after whom the grounds are named – will lead the rally.
Organisers take this opportunity to remind vehicle owners of the importance that drivers of all participating vehicles must be licensed and appreciate their cooperation in this matter.
Refreshments for participants will be served in the clubrooms afterwards and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy what is sure to be a great day out.
