Top Irish sports presenter, Marty Morrissey to compere ‘All in for Ann’ charity fundraiser

September 28, 2015

The All in for Ann fundraiser has been given a boost with the news that Marty Morrissey will front the much anticipated event.  With just under a fortnight to go before the charity football match, it has been revealed that Ireland’s favourite sports presenter Marty Morrissey will be master of ceremonies both on and off the pitch for the big event which takes place on October 3rd at Dromintee GAC.

The best ladies’ footballers in the country will come together for what promises to be an unmissable match between Ulster and the Rest of Ireland and it is fitting that one of Irish sport’s biggest characters and leading commentators has signed up to compere what is shaping up to be the event of the year.

Marty is the latest in a long line of big names from the Irish sporting arena who have stepped up to support the charitable initiative.  He joins stars such as Armagh Manager Kieran McGeeney, Armagh Ladies Captain Caroline O’Hanlon, All-Star and former Aussie rules professional Marty Clarke and former Ulster and Ireland rugby star Paddy Wallace, who have all come out in force to back the unique event which aims to raise funds for the Ulster Cancer Foundation and Breast Cancer Awareness.

The event is the brainchild of former Armagh Ladies’ football manager, James Daly, in honour of his wife Ann, who died last July after a brave eight year battle with cancer.

The charity football fundraiser is a fitting tribute to football-mad wife Ann, who was also a former Armagh ladies board secretary.

The event, aptly named “All in for Ann”, combines Ann’s great passion for football and fundraising, and will feature various opportunities for people to additionally support the charity work, with all proceeds donated to the Ulster Cancer Foundation and Breast Cancer Awareness – two charities that Ann herself had raised money for over the years.

James, who has been sporting flowing red locks of late, will donate his shorn hair to the Little Princess Trust, alongside his two daughters on the day, while a charity auction on the evening will feature personalised and autographed match boots owned by Irish rugby legends Brian O’Driscoll and Ronan O’Gara.

Anyone who can assist with any of the initiatives or support on the day to get in touch via the All in for Ann Facebook page.

Anticipation is certainly building for this exceptional event and a just giving page is also available for anyone wishing to donate at https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/james-daly-3
