Host of big names lined up for Farney Country Music Festival

The much anticipated “Farney Country Music Festival” takes place this August bank holiday weekend in Carrickmacross with a host of country music favourites lined up to entertain revellers during the three day annual event.

Thousands of country fans are expected to turn out for the special weekend of music and entertainment with Nathan Carter kicking off the festivities in the marquee in The Fiddlers’ car park this Saturday 30th July at 7pm, followed by Lee Matthews at 9pm.

The jiving competition also takes place on Saturday, beginning at 7pm, with a top prize of a weekend away for two up for grabs.

On Sunday 31st Derek Ryan and The Mad Ass Mules will take to the stage at 9pm, while Bank Holiday Monday 1st August will see RTE’s Entertainer of the year Mike Denver and country music star Lisa McHugh get feet tapping on the last night of the country music extravaganza.

Admission each night is €20 payable at the door with half price entry to Vanity Night Club each night for those attending the Farney Music Festival.

Seamus McEnaney, who has helped to put the fantastic weekend of country music together, says massive crowds are expected for the bank holiday event which features the best country artists in the business.
