McKeever named as new Armagh captain
April 28, 2009
Ciaran McKeever will take over from Paul McGrane as the new captain of Armagh for 2009. The 24 year old St Patrick’s, Cullyhanna clubman made his Armagh senior debut in January 2004 against St Mary’s.
Ciaran has been on 3 Armagh Ulster winning sides and has acted as stand-in captain in McGrane’s absence.
The role of captain is borne easily by Ciaran as he led Armagh to All-Ireland u-21 glory when he skippered the first team from the county to win the title in 2004.

A tough championship debut with the captain’s armband on awaits as he will lead out the side in the Ulster SFC opener against defending All-Ireland champions Tyrone on 31 May at Clones.
