Grainne narrowly escapes the chop in boardroom showdown

October 31, 2016

Local Apprentice star Grainne McCoy has made it through another week of BBC One’s Apprentice after a boardroom showdown where she narrowly escaped being fired.

The 31 year old Dromintee woman took on the daunting project manager role last week for a fashion task business challenge in which the budding entrepreneurs took over luxury London department store Liberty.

Week four of the hit TV show saw the surprise walkout of one candidate before the task had even begun.  Mum-of-three Aleksandra King quit the show because of the lack of contact with her family.

Grainne’s team failed to impress Lord Sugar during the Liberty task and were announced as the losing team with the local make-up studio owner forced to return to the boardroom along with two others of her choice for the infamous grilling from Lord Sugar and his sidekicks.  It was the first time the local business woman has undergone the boardroom interrogation and, despite being in the firing line, she survived, with Lord Sugar’s finger of doom reserved for Mukai Noiri.

Thirty eightyear-old Noiri paid the ultimate price after struggling during the fashion challenge and encouraging the sale of handbags over scarves.

With four weeks in the bag, local Apprentice hopeful Grainne has made it into week five to fight it out once again for the £250k investment prize and the chance of being hired by business tycoon, Lord Sugar.
