The heat is on as Oisin makes Master Chef’s semi-finals

February 27, 2017

Crossmaglen Rangers and former Armagh footballer, Oisin McConville, is feeling the heat, having made it to the final four of MasterChef Ireland TV contest.

Oisin has been cooking up a storm in the programme, broadcast weekly on TV3, and last Thursday he wowed the judges with “restaurant standard” roast pistachio duck dish.

Shrugging off the praise from the judging panel, he joked it is “getting ridiculous” that his impressive culinary skills have kept him in the competition and added: “I didn’t even know you could eat a duck without shredding it!”

Oisin will be hoping to continue his success in this week’s semi-finals where he is up against actor Simon Delaney, Eurovision star Niamh Kavanagh and charity boss Colm O’Gorman.

MasterChef Ireland airs Thursdays on TV3 at 9.00pm.
