UUP demands full disclosure of Kingsmill files

March 13, 2017

The Irish government is not delivering on its promises of providing information on the Kingsmill massacre, the Ulster Unionist party has claimed, and has called for a full disclosure on the matter.

Relatives of the victims say they are unhappy with the amount of information that has been provided thus far, with UUP MP Tom Elliot describing it as “extremely limited”.

UUP met officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs at Stormont on Thursday to discuss legacy issues, during which the issue of files held by Dublin in relation to the 1976 murders of the ten Protestant victims was debated.

Two years ago Taoiseach Enda Kenny told the families that his government would provide information it held about the attack to a coroner for an inquest into the killings.
