Business and homeowners urged to check CCTV films to track Carrickdale motorbike thief

April 24, 2017

Local business and homeowners with CCTV are being asked to check their films after a thief who stole a motorcyclist’s prize bike as he returned from the Tandragee 100 was captured on camera in south Armagh.

Motorbike owner Alan Connor was returning from the annual road race meeting on Saturday evening when he stopped at the Carrickdale Hotel.  When he emerged from the hotel, the Ifor Williams 10 x 5 box trailer, which contained his motorcycle, was gone.

The motorbike had gold wheels on it at the time of being taken and a set of blue wheels were also in the trailer.

CCTV images captured of the thief show him to be of large build and wearing a blue T-shirt. The man was tracked passing through Jonesborough at around 8.30pm on Saturday night.  He was driving a black Nissan Terrano jeep, with false English plates.

Mr Connor has thanked everyone who has shared appeals to help find the thief and urged anyone living in the Jonesborough area, or further out, with CCTV at their property or business to help in tracking the jeep or its driver.

If you have any information or have seen the bike and can help in anyway, the owner can be contacted on (00353) 870556105.
