The new constituency office of Newry and Armagh Sinn Fein MLA Megan Fearon was officially opened in Crossmaglen last weekend.

The party’s Vice President Mary Lou McDonald performed the official duties and was joined by MP Mickey Brady, MLAs Conor Murphy and Cathal Boylan, as well as councillors from Newry, Armagh, Monaghan and Louth.

Members of the local Morris/Harvey cumann, party activists and representatives of local community groups also attended the event where they heard Ms McDonald praise the efforts of those who work to promote the party at local level and pledge that Sinn Fein “will do our utmost” to continue representing the people.

“This office in Crossmaglen has been and will continue to deal with any issues regarding welfare rights, planning, housing and any other issues which may affect the lives of the people in this constituency.  Megan  Fearon, as a south Armagh MLA, and our Sinn Fein team in Newry and Armagh are committed to striving to improve the quality of life for all of our constituents and this office will be a contact point for the community to make us aware of how we can best do that for them,” she said.

Ms Fearon spoke of her delight at the opening of the new premises in the town: “As a party, we endeavour to offer a first class constituency service and along with our offices  in Newry and Armagh cities, this office improves that valuable service further.  My office and all our Sinn Féin representatives, whether elected or activists, are committed to working for all and our resources are available to all,” she said.
