Speed Bumps needed on Courtney Hill – Curran

July 21, 2009

Sinn Féin councillor Brendan Curran has said that there is no substitute for speed bumps in order to slow traffic and increase safety on busy roads.

The Newry councillor made the comments while calling for the installation of traffic calming measures at Courtney Hill.

Cllr Curran, who has campaigned for speed bumps on the road for years said,

“I have been contacted by numerous residents in the area who are concerned by speeding traffic on the road. The red patches on the road do very little to slow traffic and I am calling for the installation of speed bumps as a matter of priority before a child is killed on the route.”
