Swine flu fears for Down Minors

July 28, 2009

Twenty squad members of the Down GAA minor panel are feared to have been hit by the swine flu pandemic after a number of the players developed symptoms this week.

Two training sessions were cancelled as a precautionary measure, ahead of the team’s quarter final match against Dublin on Saturday.

The Down County GAA Board has said that players have been advised to follow National Health Service guidelines and added that the situation “is being monitored closely”.

It’s believed 20 players and four of the management team have been suffering from flu-like symtoms.
