Big Fun Run Presentation

On Friday evening, the proceeds from Crossmaglen’s ‘Big Fun Run’ were presented to representatives from local groups.

Recipients of the proceeds were The Rainbow Club; St. Oliver Plunkett Youth Club; Upper Creggan Lourdes Committee founded 1963; Upper Creggan and District Armagh Diocesan Lourdes Hospitalite; St. Patrick’s Primary School, Crossmaglen and St. Joseph’s High School, Crossmaglen.  Each group was presented with a cheque for £850.00.

More than 300 people took part in the event, which took place last month.  Winners on the day were: 1st place Mens – Mickey Connors and 1st place Ladies – Rosie Daly.  Additional prizes were awarded for the most money raised by an adult and a juvenile, along with other spot prizes.

Crossmaglen Rangers organising committee would like to take this opportunity to extend sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the Fun Run.

Thanks also to all the local shops that accommodated the post boxes for the application forms.  We also extend our thanks to the stewards who kindly assisted on the day and a special mention to Aaron Kernan, Seamie McGeown, Gerard Rushe, Tony Brady, John Hand, Marguerite Donaghy for their great help and support throughout.

Finally we wish to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Big Fun Run, which raised a considerable amount for our community.  We look forward to seeing you all next year!
