Three people have been injured in two separate hit-and-run incidents recently.

Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, a pedestrian was knocked down crossing The Square in Crossmaglen.  The offending driver failed to stop at the scene and made off in the Monug Road direction.  The victim was comforted by passers-by before being taken by ambulance to Daisy Hill hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.

A second hit-and-run occurred just across the border at Annavackey, Co. Louth in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It’s believed two males had emerged from a taxi on the main Dundalk to Castleblayney road when they were struck by a passing vehicle.  The driver failed to stop.

Both man sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.  It’s believed one of the men is being treated in Dublin’s Beaumont hospital where his condition is said to be serious.
