Festive mood with Christmas Luncheon Club dinner

December 22, 2009

The last Luncheon Club dinner funded by The Awards for All was like none which preceded it. On Tuesday last, 23 people received a special Christmas-themed dinner in the the Cross Square Hotel. The group wishes to extend their thanks to management at the hotel for the wonderful dinner served and the welcoming glass of mulled wine and Christmas crackers provided. This all contributed to making the occasion enjoyable for those attending.

The Luncheon Club, which targets the over 60’s living within Creggan ward enables approximately 20 people to avail of a 2-course meal on a fortnightly basis at no cost to them. There will be 3 further dinners over the January – March 2010 period; Tuesday 26th January, Tuesday 23rd February and Tuesday 23rd March 2010. These dinners will be funded via the Southern Investing for Health Partnership’s ‘small grants awards scheme.’

To avoid disappointment, those interested in attending any of the activities outlined should register their interest with the Group’s Secretary, Kenny Donaldson on: 07900882770 asap.

Finally, the group wishes to extend it’s deepest appreciation to the Cross Examiner for the ongoing coverage given to activities/initiatives run via the group believing this to be one of the key factors of the group’s success.

The group wishes all a very happy and peaceful Christmas.
