O’Rourke announces Armagh McKenna Cup Panel

Paddy O’Rourke has announced a 30 strong panel of players for the January 2010 Barrett Lighting McKenna Cup Competition. The newly appointed Armagh supremo has 18 different clubs represented in the squad with four debutants. Michael McNamee (Crossmaglen), Colm Watters (Culloville) , Darnell Parkinson (Pearse Og) and Paul Magee (Sarsfields) are the newcomers with Kevin Dyas (Dromintee) and Malachy Mackin (St Patrick’s) making a return to county action.

Armagh will begin their McKenna Cup campaign against Fermanagh in Crossmaglen on January 10. Meanwhile the provincial competitions central controls committee has acceded to requests to alter fixtures which had already been drawn up in the competition. UUJ will now face Monaghan in Scotstown on Sat Jan 2.(2.00) in what will now be the opening game of the competition and that same night Tyrone will play Cavan under lights at Healy Park, Omagh (7.30). On Saturday Jan 16 Armagh will play UUJ at Crossmaglen (2.00), Cavan will be at home to Donegal (7pm) and Down will play Queen’s at Newry (7.00).
