Hit-and-run arrest

As part of their investigation into a hit-and-run incident in Mullaghbawn, police have confirmed that an arrest has been made.
A 22-year-old man was arrested in the Anamar area of Cullyhanna on January 11th.
After questioning, the male was released pending further enquiries.
On December 12th, Leontia Strain and Declan Gartland were left seriously injured when they were struck by a speeding car outside the Strain family home on the Maphoner Road. Both victims underwent emergency surgery and required intensive hospital treatment of their injuries.
The driver of the car failed to stop.
Repeated appeals for information from the public have been well received and it’s believed the police investigation into the accident has intensified in recent weeks.
