The Armagh county final of Scór Sinsear was held in Craigavon on Sunday March 7th.

With the bulk of representation at the event coming from the south division, it was unsurprising that local clubs claimed seven of the eight county titles on offer.

Dromintee GFC took the titles in Céilí Dancing, Set Dancing and was also awarded the Club of the Year prize.  Silverbridge GFC was successful in the Quiz and Novelty Act, while Mullaghbawn’s Dearbhla Bennett emerged as the winner in Solo Singing.  St. Patrick’s GFC, Cullyhanna was awarded first place in the Ballad Group section, while Carrickcruppen’s Niamh Devine won the Recitation award for the fourth year in a row – her first in the 2007 Scór na Óg.

The only club outside of the south division to taste success was Madden in Instrumental Music.

All in all it was a hugely successful night for local clubs and is testament to the continued support shown to Scór by south Armagh clubs.

Ulster semi-final

The county final winners went on to represent their club and county in the Ulster semi-final against acts from Antrim and Down, which took place on Saturday March 13th in Glengormley, Co. Antrim.

Competitors who continued their run of success were: Silverbridge Novelty Act and Quiz team, Dromintee Céilí dancers, Carrickcruppen Recitation winner, Niamh Devine, and Madden Instrumental Group.

They now progress to the provincial final on Saturday March 27th in Threemilehouse, Co. Monaghan at 7.00pm.
