Newry entrepreneur appointed to Latvian consul

Newry entrepreneur, Dr. Gerard O’Hare, has been appointed honorary consul of the Republic of Latvia for Northern Ireland.
The appointment was made by the ambassador of Latvia during a recent event at the embassy of Latvia in London.
Following his appointment, Dr. O’Hare said: “In the first instance, I will be concerned with the wellbeing of all Latvian citizens who come to visit, work, study or reside in Northern Ireland.
“I will also be tasked with helping the promotion of trade and business links as well as supporting cultural, tourism and educational exchange with Latvia.”
Dr O’Hare plans to open a consulate office in Newry later this year.
