Christy Moore Tribute to play Forkhill

March 23, 2010

Welcome to the Cabaret, a Cabaret where an ordinary man and his guitar will transport you from Lisdoonvarna to the City of Chicago via the cliffs of Dooneen only pausing for breath to pick up some lost raggle taggle gypsy along the way.

A night visit like no other it will be and they’ll all be there, Nancy Spain, Casey, The Wicklow Boy and even the Rose of Tralee!

Don’t forget your shovel if you’re going to ride on down to this gig. There’ll be buckets of smoke and strong whiskey and you’ll need every drop if you’re going to ask the girl with the pair of brown eyes if she will make the voyage to the dance floor while your man on the stage is singing ‘black is the colour of my true love’s hair’.

‘He’s getting out the bodhran’, say’s Matty to Bibi as she smells the bright blue rose he gave to her during the ‘Fairytale of New York’. ‘Well below the Valley’, she replies, and after the encore, we can be down in the meadow and you can sing’ John O’ Dreams’ to me, just like yer man on the stage. ‘ He better sing Joxer and the D.T’s says Jesus Christ to Jessie James ‘or it’s back to Ponchartrain with us!’

The time has come folks, hope you all enjoyed the aul Cabaret, Thank you very much and good night.

Joe Corey Promotions Agent for the show, states that County Wexford singer/songwriter Liam Byrne has been a fan of Christy Moore for over ten years and has an in-depth knowledge and uncanny resemblance in both singing and guitar playing to the great man.

You can catch the show live on Easter Monday night 5th April at Forkhill GAC Social Club with a performance start time of 10.30pm.
