The town of Crossmaglen and the wider community was shocked and saddened at the sad passing of one of its most esteemed citizens on Thursday.
A deeply religious man, Christy Blair from Rathview Park in the town was well-known for his involvement and promotion of his Catholic faith.
He organised annual pilgrimages to Knock and San Giovanni in Rome and was a member of the local Padre Pio prayer group.
Kind and thoughtful, Christy was renowned for helping others, particularly anyone who was ill or in need.
Although in failing health recently, he continued to attend and promote religious events.
Christy was laid to rest on Sunday morning in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Crossmaglen following Requiem Mass.
He is survived by his brother, Gene, sisters Philly, Teresa and Maureen and wider family circle.
