May 25, 2010
Two men have been arrested near the border by police investigating a suspected dissident bomb-making factory.
Armed officers raided outbuildings in Old Newry Road, Dundalk around 7.00pm on Saturday.
The men, who are in their 30s and 50s, were found near a trailer containing two 6ft modified gas cylinders. Gardaí believe the seized items were to be used for a bombing operation.
The men were taken to Drogheda Garda Station for questioning. Yesterday (Sunday) evening the area remained sealed-off as Garda forensic experts continued to examine the scene.
