Savage’s new-look bakery reopens after complete refit

June 29, 2010

Savage’s Home Bakery, Coffee Dock and Delicatessen in Crossmaglen opened its doors recently following a major refurbishment of its North Street premises.

Established in 1982 by husband and wife team, Damien and Sharon Savage, the business has gone from strength to strength and has become one of the town’s success stories.

In a bid to continue offering top class service and meet the demands of today’s discerning customer, earlier this year the proprietors took the decision to totally revamp the aging premises and embarked on an ambitious project which involved a total renovation and refurbishment.

To facilitate the work, the business moved temporarily to nearby premises while the massive job got underway.  Just six weeks later, the works were completed and Damien and Sharon officially opened their new-look business.

Local GAA stars Aaron Kernan and Ciaran McKeever were on hand to help with the official opening duties.

Savage’s Home Bakery, Coffee Dock and Delicatessen now boasts a modern, fully functional premises, appealing to both staff and customers alike.

The bakery, situated at the front of the premises, is professionally fitted out with eye-catching décor and displays.

It’s home-bakery products are freshly baked on-site daily, while the extensive range of breads available includes the popular healthy choices of low GI and multi-seed loaves, along with the firm favourites of wheaten, soda and wholemeal.

International flavours can also be sampled with popular and tasty honey and spelt loaf.

An extensive range of salads, hot and cold food and pastries are available daily.

A wide range of wedding, birthday and special occasion cakes are offered and Savage’s can supply made-to-order party platters of hot or cold buffet food, sandwiches and pastries to suit any budget.

To expand the service offered to customers, Damien also introduced a new range of products including the hugely popular ‘Shmoo’ milk shakes – sure to be a hit during the summer season.

The refurbishment also included a complete overhaul of the on-site coffee dock and restaurant, almost doubling its capacity.  Introducing high spec furniture and accessories, customers can now relax in comfortable and opulent surroundings and enjoy an extensive breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea menu available daily.

A number of new home-cooked ranges have been added to the menu and, along with the usual favourites, are already proving very popular.

With the introduction of free wi-fi in the building, customers can now surf the internet while enjoying their meal.

Damien and Sharon Savage would like to take this opportunity to thank their customers for their service over the last 28 years and look forward to their continued custom in the new premises.

They also pay tribute to their hard-working and committed staff whose professional customer service remains central to the success of the business.

Appreciation is also extended to SEPA Ltd for their work in carrying out the refurbishment.
