Crossmaglen bomb charge

A Dundalk man has been remanded in custody charged in connection with the bomb attack on Crossmaglen police station in April.
David Murphy (30) with an address at Ashling Park, Cox’s Demesne, Dundalk was charged in May with ‘unlawfully and maliciously’ conspiring with others to cause an explosion of a nature likely to endanger life or cause serious injury, contrary to the Explosives Act.
The charge relates to the bomb attack on April 3rd when a ‘viable device’ left in an abandoned car at the gates of the station and was later defused by army technical officers.
The accused was remanded until October by the Special Criminal Court in Dublin.
