Carrick Primary School in Burren and St. Joseph’s Primary in Madden were also both successful in their bids for funding.  Carrick P.S. has been awarded £3.329million while St. Joseph’s is to receive £1.543million.

Newry and Armagh MLA, Cathal Boylan, extended his congratulations to St. Joseph’s.

“I am delighted for the staff, pupils and parents, and especially the Principal, Mr. Loughran, they have all worked very hard to put together a sustainable programme and business plan and their hard work has borne fruit.

“This new school will ensure the local community of Madden will continue to avail of the excellent education curriculum currently being delivered by the staff for many years to come.”
