Overwhelming support for Armstrong family
August 10, 2010
While the Armstrong family in Crossmaglen continues to await news on the confirmation of the identity of the remains believed to be that of their missing father, Charlie, the family has thanked everyone for the huge support they have received from the community.
Charlie’s daughter, Anna McShane, says the family is extremely grateful for the messages of encouragement and good wishes they have received since the remains were discovered on Thursday 29th July. She said they have been inundated with telephone calls and visits and are all deeply touched by the level of support and consideration shown to them.
Anna paid particular tribute to the Gardaí who, she says, afforded the family the opportunity to hold a dignified and prayerful reflection as the remains were being removed from the site.
