DPP member’s car gutted in petrol bomb attack

A  car was completely gutted in a petrol bomb attack outside a house in Newry at the weekend.  

The incident occurred in Dromalane Park around 11pm on Saturday night when the device was thrown at a red Renault Laguna.

It is understood the owner of the vehicle is a member of the local District Policing Partnership.

The car caught fire and was completely destroyed.  The petrol bomb was thrown from a silver Renault Megane which sped off after the attack, police have said.

No one was injured and police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
