Armagh body find sparks murder probe
September 7, 2010
Detectives in Armagh city have begun a murder inquiry after a man’s body was found on Friday.
It is understood 32-year-old Kevin Fletcher was found at his apartment on Castle Street near the Church of Ireland cathedral around midday.
Forensic teams were at the scene on Friday night and a post-mortem examination is to be carried out.
SDLP MLA for the area, Dominic Bradley, said people are ‘startled’ at the killing.
He said: “Any murder is chilling but when it takes place on your doorstep it is particularly harrowing.
“The Castle Street area of Armagh is a very quiet area and residents are deeply concerned that this young man’s life has been taken so close to their homes.”
He appealed for anyone with information to contact police.
