All-Ireland Champions Go Back to School !

April 10, 2012

The children from St Patrick’s P.S. and Gaelscoil Phádraig Naofa had a visit from two of the Rangers squad on Tuesday before they broke up for their Easter holidays. There was a thunderous applause and loud cheering as Francis Hanratty and Conor O’Neill came into the school hall with the Andy Merrigan Cup and the Man of the Match Award, which Francis received for his outstanding performance in the All-Ireland Final replay scoring 2 goals and a point against opponents Garrycastle.

The pupils and staff were delighted to welcome back two of their past pupils and Mr Madine, school principal, told the young men how proud we all are of their outstanding achievements.  We thank them for taking time out from their busy schedules to call into the school as their visit meant so much to the pupils and staff who proudly collected autographs and photographs and held the treasured trophies. They took part in a Question and Answer session in the Rang a Sé/Seacht class and maith thú to Conor O’Neill who was able to respond as Gaeilge to their questions. We in St Patrick’s P.S. and Gaelscoil Phádraig Naofa  are  so proud to have ambassadors like these for our school and for our community and we wish them every continued success in the future.
