Creggan C.O.I Hall – Management Committee – A ‘Big’ Lottery winner

Creggan Church of Ireland Hall Management Committee has won ‘Big’ on the Lottery. The local group who are based in Creggan C.O.I Parish Hall have been granted £9,028 via the Big Lottery Fund’s, ‘Awards For All Programme.’

The monies will enable the group to offer the following services and activities for the benefit of the local community: Bi-weekly Luncheon Club for the over 60’s (which will re-commence on the first Tuesday of October 2012 and run through until end March 2013) Computer, Art, Jewellery making, Calligraphy, Dancing, Flower Arranging and Digital Photography courses. The monies will also enable the group to lay on a Theatre trip for the benefit of local people living in the Creggan and surrounding areas.

The group are delighted that the Lottery has once again agreed to invest in the work of the group. The finance along with that recently awarded via Lloyds TSB Foundation N.I will ensure that educational and recreational based services are able to be accessed locally by those living within the Creggan ward and surrounding hinterlands.

Details of courses starting:

Jewellery making (Tuesday 8th May 2012 x 8 consecutive weeks and running from 7pm – 9pm) Cost – £30 for the course which covers contribution to heating, lighting and refreshments. Participants will be expected to contribute towards the cost of materials however the funding awarded will cover a significant portion of material costs. Details will be given on the first night (Registration)

Flower Arranging (Wednesday 9th May 2012 x 8 consecutive weeks and running from 7pm – 9pm) Tutor: Ruth Watt. Cost – £30 for the course which includes Tuition, heating, lighting and refreshments. Participants will be expected to contribute towards the cost of flowers however the funding awarded will cover a significant portion of material costs. Details will be given on the first night (Registration)

It is expected that the remainder of activities funded will be delivered over the September 2012 – May 2013 period.
