Adult learning day in Wald Centre

May 15, 2012

The WALD Centre in association with Southern Regional College are having an Adult Education Evening at 7.30pm, on Thursday 31st May in the Centre in Cullyhanna.

The evening is to launch our new programme of courses that will be on offer coming September.  The enrolments evening has always been a busy event, and we want to try and have enrolments completed early and then get courses started earlier in the month.

We will be doing a number of things:-

The Adult Access Course:-

Best course available offering the equivalent of 5GCSEs including English and Maths, leading on to 3 A’ levels.

We want to get Application Forms completed so that people on many benefits, or on reduced income, can get the fees paid for them up front with the added attraction of a small grant to help them study.

Free Computer Courses:-

We will be offering three levels of computer courses Free to students, and we want to make sure that the students can get their level of course and get the times that suit them.

Working with Children with Special Needs;

Again this course is very popular, for student seeking work, and for parents just keeping themselves well informed and we wish to try and get this course started on a Monday evening as soon as possible.

Along with details of all our other courses to be run in the WALD Centre, we will be organising information on Finance and Careers on the night.

FOR PEOPLE INTERESTED IN THE ACCESS COURSE, AND WISH TO AVAIL OF THE STUDENT AWARD, THE EARLIER THE BETTER.  IF THE FORM IS FILLED IN PROMPTLY THEN THE COURSE MAY BE PAID FOR UP FRONT BY THE EDUCATION BOARD.

Patsy Doyle, Southern Regional College will be in the WALD Centre on Wednesday and Friday to help information and to help students make their application for their award, ensuring the course fees are paid.

For more information on the Adult Learning Evening or the Access Course in particular, contact Patsy Doyle on 3025 9712 or Teresa Nugent on 30861220.
