Dee Reilly – By a Country Mile

December 23, 2008

Nashville Country Music star DEE REILLY has been awarded the title of Most Popular International Country Music Artist at the prestigious Entrainment Awards Show in the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney.

Hosted by TV star Michael Lyster (RTE) and Paul Clark (UTV) Dee performed a selection of numbers from her latest best selling album “Nothin’s Right and Nothin’s left” to a packed audience who took her to their hearts.

Looking resplendent in a white trouser suite, the stunning Dee has the flashbulbs popping as she took to the stage and it was obvious to everyone in the house, who took to their feet in a spontaneous standing ovation, that the former model has confirmed that she is now the most popular female attraction in Ireland, a proud day for her parents who originated from Cork and Mayo.

The above award was the culmination of 12 months of intensive work all over Ireland by Dee and the lads in the band who were gratified by the increase in crowd numbers at the dance and concert venues, especially since the success of her latest album “Nothin’s Right and Nothin’s Left”. The title track which picked up most of the airplay was also written by the lady herself and recorded in Ireland at Jonathan Owens’ Sprout Studio in Granard, Co. Longford.

While 2008 was a hectic year, with sell-out shows in nearly every county in Ireland then it is hoped that 2009 will be even busier.

As 2008 draws to a close Dee finishes off this amazing year with her annual show in Las Vegas and with her schedule so tight she has to fly to Ireland on ‘Christmas Day’ for a fully booked out tour, beginning St. Stephen’s Night, which was originally planned to last 2 weeks before it was extended to 3, and finally ended up as 4 weeks due to demand.

While here it is hoped to fit in some recording for the new album before Dee rushes back to the USA for a Caribbean Cruise which also features the great and good in Irish entertainment.

Then its back to the Shamrock shore in late February for a tour with the Queen’s of Country including Philomena Begley, Lousie Morrissey, Jeannie Seely, and Billie Joe Spears.

During a brief respite back in America Dee is Guest of Honour at the 17th March celebrations in Massachusetts before she returns to her ‘home away from home’ for a major Nationwide tour which begins in Monaghan at Easter for 6 weeks.

June sees Dee back home to recharge the batteries and put the finishing touches to her DVD which will be shot in Ireland and Nashville. Then it’s back for the months of July and August for dates in England, Ireland and Scotland and Wales which finishes on 1st September.

Plans are also at an advanced stage to take some friends and fans for a tour of Nashville in October, if anyone interested please contact the number below.

As you see, Irish Fans will have quite a few opportunities to see this little bundle of energy over the next 12 months, and if you haven’t already been to one of her shows, do come along as she and her excellence 5-piece band put on one of the best shows on the circuit.

Dee’s seasonal offering of ‘Jingle Bell Rock/ Rocking Around the Christmas Tree and Silent Night will be released on December 1st for promotional purposes only.

On other thing, Dee just loves to meet people after the show, so make sure and come up for a chat and a hearty ‘Cead Mile Failte’.

Dee will be appearing in the Cross Square Hotel on St. Stephen’s Night December 26th Dancing to Late.
