Joe Dolan Tribute for Forkhill Social Club

December 23, 2008

Quite possibly the most recognizable voice in the Irish music industry belonged to  ‘The Westmeath Bachelor’, Joe Dolan.

His forays into the field of Country, Folk, Rock and even Gospel music distinguish Dolan as one of the most intriguing performers in 20th Century popular music.

Dolan was one of the music industries biggest stars and had his first chart success in 1964 with ‘The Answer to Everything’. In 1969 he had his first International chart success when he reached number 3 in the UK with a song entitled ‘Make me an Island’.

Joe Dolan and the Drifters became a household name throughout Ireland and Internationally and their professionalism set the standard for other Acts to follow such as Van Morrison, Paul Brady and later day Acts like Boyzone and Westlife.

Singer / songwriter Aaron Paul performs all the hits including, ‘Good Looking Woman’, ‘I Love You More and More Everyday’, ‘Sister Mary’, ‘Aching Breaking Heart of Mine’ ‘Pretty Brown Eyes’ etc from the Joe Dolan catalogue of songs in that unmistakable tenor style voice. He will also include a selection of popular songs from the Showband era throughout the night.

Aaron’s lively stage performance will keep the girls excited and the audience baying for more at the end of his music set. No stranger to the music scene he has performed previously with the Elvis Spectacular in leading Theatres throughout the U.K. and Ireland and has made countless appearances on TV and Radio through the years.

He has just released his new single ‘There Was No Show Like a Joe Show’ which is receiving rave reviews and continuous air play in all the major Radio Stations throughout Ireland and the U.K.

During the interval the Goodbye Venice band will perform a selection of popular songs from the 60’s to the 90’s.

You can catch this remarkable show live on Saturday night 27th December at a special Cabaret/dance night in the Forkhill GAC Social Centre, Forkhill, Co Armagh and relive a magical night of nostalgia with a performance start time of 10.30pm.
