Fuel laundering vehicles seized

November 6, 2012

Police discovered two forty foot articulated trailers in Mullaghbawn last week, which were found to contain cylindrical tanks in the rear with the capability to store and transport large quantities of illegal fuel.

These vehicles, which present a high risk to the public if used on the public roads, were seized by HMRC officers.

In the same operation, police also uncovered a large meat butchering plant in adjacent outbuildings.  All meat was seized.

The scene was attended by Environmental Health Officers from Newry and Mourne Council, who are carrying out further investigations..
