All aboard the Santa Express for Christmas at The Quays

November 13, 2012

It’s that wonderful time of year again when children across the country are putting together their Christmas wish lists for Santa Claus to deliver on Christmas morning. As part of his preparations Santa will be arriving at The Quays Shopping Centre in Newry at 12 noon on Saturday 17th November. Making an entrance, Santa will travel in very exciting fashion; not by car, not even by sleigh, but by train. Led in by his toy soldier drummers, Santa will arrive at 12 noon aboard The Quays land train which will come from Drumalane Mill through the carpark to the main doors. Santa will come inside and tell Christmas stories around the tree before moving into his Grotto until Christmas Eve.

On his arrival, Santa’s helpers will be on hand distributing some chocolate Christmas treats as well as some Quays Christmas goodies. The Christmas Grotto will be officially open throughout the run up to Christmas with opening hours available on The Quays website. Throughout the day there will be face painting, balloon modeling, magic shows and stilt walkers.

Sherryl Murphy, Marketing and Events Manager at The Quays said, “We are delighted to have a packed day of events to open the Christmas period at The Quays. We will also have six lucky winners from ‘The Quays Santa’s Little Helper’ Competition travelling with Santa on the Land Train as he arrives at The Quays.”

With a parking promotion across the month of November at £1 for the first two hours parking at The Quays and £1 all day on Sunday’s there are plenty of reasons to get into the festive spirit and start your Christmas shopping early.
