Aaron claims racial abuse

December 4, 2012

While not wishing to detract from his team’s marvellous achievement in winning their tenth Ulster Club title a seething Aaron Cunningham made no secret of the fact that he had suffered “for the first time at senior level” racial abuse. The Crossmaglen forward was clearly seen during the course of the game seeking the intervention of the linesman to substantiate his claim that he was racially abused by not one but two Kilcoo defenders.

Aaron who was picking up his fifth Ulster medal, was keen to go public on the matter so that it can stamped out right away, as it had no place in the GAA.

The GAA refused to make any public comment pending an investigation but it is understood the alleged incidents will form part of the match referee’s report.
